Girls Who Code (Summer Immersion Program)

Each week of the program covers projects related to computer science, such as art, storytelling, robotics, video games, websites, and apps.

You’ll also hear from guest speakers, participate in workshops, connect with female engineers and entrepreneurs, and go on field trips.

The program culminates in a final project where you build your own product and share it with your class.

Summer programs at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) provide an opportunity to spend a summer working at the NIH side-by-side with some of the leading scientists

Safari Camps Washington, D.C. Zoo

Each of the Summer Safari programs explores the lives, habitats and conservation of animals around the world. Week-long sessions include exciting hands-on activities, lessons,

craft projects, science experiments and walks through the Zoo (but no direct contact with animals). Camp sessions are grouped into four grade levels: K-1, 2-3, 4-5 and 6-7.

Day camp is not offered at the pre-K level.

Girls Talk Math

Girls Talk Math is a two-week summer day camp hosted by the Department of Mathematics at the University of Maryland. The camp will occur weekdays July 9-20, 2018 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.

National Society of Black Engineers Summer Engineering Experience for Kids

SEEK, a three-week program, is designed to expose black children to STEM fields as early as the third grade and through 12th grade. Students participate from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily,

so each student is given 105 contact hours per summer.

High School Visitation (HSV) is a comprehensive, hands-on program to give young women an in-depth look at the field of engineering. High school students from the state of Virginia are welcome

Black Girls Code (Summer)

Day camps provide 10 days of hands-on, project-based instruction in which girls engage in tech instruction. The camps run for six hours a day and include lunch, breaks, community building,

field trips and, of course, coding. No prior coding experience is required.
